Applying Different Effects to Photos:
Applying effects to your photos in PhotoScape is fun and easy. There are several different effects that you can apply to the photos. In this guide I will show you how to apply different effects to your photos in PhotoScape.Open a new photo to apply your effects to. If you do not know how to open a photo, do the following. Click on your Editor tab at the top of your window. On the left side of your screen you will see two windows. Locate the folder with your photos in the top window and click it. Click the photo in the bottom window that you want to apply the effects too.

The first effect that I will show you is the glass effect. This will make your photo look like squares of glass. Open the photo that you want to apply this effect too. At the bottom of the window you will see four tabs. Click the Home tab and locate the Filter button. Click the filter button and click Filter > Glasstile > and select one of the three choices. A box will open and you can adjust the settings to what you want. Click OK to apply the effect.

Next, I will show you how to apply the negative effect to your photo. Open the photo that you want to use for this effect or you can undo the effects to your other photo. Click the Home tab at the bottom of your window. On the left side of the box you will see four little square icons. Click the Black and White Circle icon. That will apply the negative effect. To undo it, click the icon again or click the Undo button on the right.

The next effect that I will show you is the Dream Look effect. Open the photo that you want to use or undo the effects that you just applied and use that photo. Click on the Home tab at the bottom of your window. Click the arrow on the Bloom button and select High. Give it a second to apply the effect. You can undo the effect and try low or medium on it.

The next effect is the flare effect. This is also known as the sparkle or star effect. Click the Filter button and click Lens Flare from the pop up menu. The Lens Flare box will open and you can adjust the flare settings. To move the flare, grab the yellow squares in the preview box and move them to where you want the flare to go. Click OK to apply it.
You can apply many more effects to your photo by clicking the Filter button and clicking on an effect.

Turn a Photo Into an Old Photo:
There are a couple of different ways to apply this effect in PhotoScape. There are also about 10 different Old Photo looks that you can apply to your photo.Open your PhotoScape program and let it load. When the interface loads, click on the Editor icon.
Next, you will need to open the photo that you want to apply the Old Photo Look too. On the left side of your screen you will see a list of folders. Locate the folder that you photo is in. Click on the folder. You will see the thumbnails of the photos that are in that folder in the bottom of your screen. Double click the photo that you want to apply this effect too.
Your photo will open in the middle of your screen. At the bottom of your screen you will see the properties box. This is where you will apply the Old Photo effect.
You will see four tabs at the bottom of your window. Click on the Home tab. In this section you will see a brown and white gradient square. Click that square to apply the Old Photo Look. The more you click it, the more it will change. This basically gives it that sepia tone look.
Here is another way to apply the Old Photo look. Click the Undo All button in the bottom of your window to undo the above changes. At the bottom of your window you will see a Filter button. Click the filter button and click Antique Photo > Antique Photo. The Antique Photo window will open. You can choose between three color conversions. You can choose between color, sepia, or grayscale. Tick the box next to the one that you want.
On the left side of the box you will see numbers 1 - 7. Clicking on each one of those numbers will give you a different Old Photo Look. So there are seven different effects that you can choose from in this window. When you click on an effect you will see the preview in your window. To apply a look, click the OK button.
The last way to apply the old photo look is to click the Home tab at the bottom of your window. Click the black and white gradient square. This will give your photo that old look. The more you click the button the older the photo will look.
To save the changes to your photo click the Save button.

Create a Scrapbook Page in Photoscape:
PhotoScape makes it easy and fun to create digital scrapbook pages. In this guide I will show you how to create these scrapbook pages. This guide is for beginners. There are many different frames and page layouts that you can use. I will walk you through the process of creating one and then you can go back and create them the way that you want. Open your PhotoScape program and let it load. When the interface loads, click the Page icon.Before we start, let me mention this. It is a good idea to create a folder on your computer to store the photos that you are going to use in your digital scrapbooking. That way you can keep the photos sorted.
To begin, you will need to locate the folder with your photos in it. On the left side of your program you will see a list of folders. Locate the folder that has your photos in it and click it. You will see the thumbnails of your photos in the bottom panel.
Next, you will need to select a page layout that you want to use. On the right side of your program you will see the different page layouts that are available. Click on a page layout to start creating your scrapbook page.
To add your photos to the page layout, grab a photo with your mouse and drag it to one of the slots on the page layout. Continue dragging your photos to the slots until you have all of your filled.
You can apply frames to your photos in your page. On the right side of your program you will see the Frame button. Click the Frame button and drop the box down and select the frame that you want to use. Then click the OK button to apply the frames.
You can change the color of the page background too. On the right side of your screen you will see the background color button. Click that button and select the color that you want. That will change your background color.
You can also apply different filters to your photos. Click on your photos to select it. Then click the filter button on the right. Click a filter to apply it to your photos.
After you are finished with your page you can save it. Click the Save button at the top of your program. When the window opens, type a name in the field for your page. Then drop the bottom field down and select jpeg. Click the Save button to save it.
You can create many different types of scrapbook pages in this program. It is wonderful. I have spent a lot of time in this program and I think you will find it very useful to create digital scrapbook pages in.
